As a black woman, we take pride in our hair. I know that I am not alone when I state that our hair is precious to us no matter if we rock it natural kinky curly or straight. The most sensitive area of our hair is our edges/hairline. Our edges can stress us out sometimes with certain hairstyles however its a must that you take good care of your edges at all times!
Post pregnancy took a toll on my edges which caused me to be insecure about my hair all together. During our long 9 months of pregnancy we are in love with our hair. It grows longer and thicker. Who does not enjoy volume and thickness when it comes to their hair? Personally, I do as I love to rock big curls or a nice silk press. After having my son in April 2018, I experienced hair loss. A month after having my son I decided to get my ends trimmed and treat myself to a nice silk press. A month later as I pulled my hair back into a middle part pony tail I noticed a bald spot. I combed my hair back and to my surprise it was more than just a bald spot. I noticed that I no longer had any edges and a lot of shedding near my hair line. A week later the other side followed the same patterned. I was left edge-less! I have never experienced hair loss like this ever in my life. Yes there was this one time I got my first relaxer however as an adult this was major hair loss. I could not believe that my precious hair line was gone. I did not have any hair to lay down to form any baby hair structure. I was beyond embarrassed and insecure about my hair that I went back to wearing wigs to cover up the baldness.
As months went by I have tried just about every hair growth product and attempted to just let my edges breathe and be to properly grow back. Since then they have however you have to continue to maintain them. As I continued to seek out a product that was not so harsh but truly grew my edges back naturally I came across Edge Naturale.
Ladies, I am here to say that I have found the perfect product for you! I am currently still using the Edge Naturale Follicle Enhancer cream around my hair line and I must say it works fast. The follicle enhancer cream has a nice mint smell but here is the best part about this product. Not only does it include Argan oil, peppermint oil, avocado oil and jojoba oil but it includes Ethylhexylglycerin! Yes it is a mouthful but it truly helps with the regrowth of your edges. If you are not familiar with this particular ingredient I am here to break it down for you. Ethylhexylglycerin is an naturally derived alternative to the controversial parabens and sulfates commonly found in hair growth formulas. It is an occlusive moisturizer, meaning it attracts moisture to the skin, promotes retention, and prevents evaporation, ensuring a healthy, moisturized scalp.
In order to truly see results from this product you have to apply it to your balding area each day. Be sure to massage this product in and allow it to sit before tying your hair down with your silk scarf. Allow the cream to truly dive deep to connect with your hair follicles that are buried below.
I highly recommend this product. It is a must if you have experienced hair loss like myself! I will be providing a 30 day follow up with pictures post applying the cream each day.
