The Bella Kinks Natural Hair Expo defined Black Girl Magic. Everywhere you turned there was a black woman showing off her black girl magic through her hairstyle and selected wardrobe pieces. It truly touched my soul. The love we all showed one another was very heartfelt. I personally received so much love from the attendees to the vendors. The love was so overwhelming however I am very appreciative. Everyone complimented my entire look which by the way was thrown together last minute. I will be honest, this was not the look I originally was going for however surprisingly it turned out great! I honestly wanted to wash my hair and twist it up into a pineapple (natural hair high pony term) however I was being lazy the night before. The aftermath was this chic halo braid which I taught myself how to do after watching several YouTube videos. Everyone loved it and stopped me to get details on my hairstyle which was shocking to me. I got this look together in approximately 20 minutes.
During the event I met a dope photographer by the name of Kristina Williams. Her friend approached me inquiring about my look and shared how her friend has been trying to get a hold of me to take photos of my hairstyle. Again, I was shocked as I thought my hair was pretty basic for a natural hair expo. (I wanted to rock my curls lol). Kristina approached and shared how she loved my style and asked to get head shots of my halo braid (my crown). Of course I said YES! The head shots turned out beautiful and screamed BLACK GIRL MAGIC! Kristina is truly dope behind the lens. How amazing are the shots below???
